August Is All About Food!
You've probably noticed a bit of a theme with the blog lately, it's all about FOOD! There are so many cool, local food events taking place this Summer, I just couldn't not share them. This weekend, there are two really great events:
Oakland's Eat Real Festival - 8/27, 8/28, 8/29
San Francisco's 18th Street Block Party - 8/28 "If you don't feel like crossing the bridge to the Eat Real Festival weekend, stick closer to home and check out the 18th Street Block Party this Saturday, August 28. Food, beverages, pie contests and more, served up from some of the block's best residents, including Kasa, Bi-Rite Market & Creamery, Tartine Bakery, Out the Door (their commissary is on 18th), El Huarache Loco and more. The event is free and runs from 12-4 p.m. between Dolores and Guerrero." - 7x7 Bits n Bites Labels: celebration, community, family friendly, food, friendly reminders, in the know, neighborhood news, Oakland, san francisco, small business, youth

Let's Go Giants! Part #85
|
Emmalou Gonzales |
In case you didn’t know, CitiScape sponsored a Junior Giants team for the 3rd year in a row, where we donate enough money to outfit a team of youngsters with balls, bats, gloves and uni’s. To thank the donors of the Junior Giants, the Giants have a pregame award ceremony on the field on Sunday, August 15th.
Since Emmalou was so instrumental in the Giants sweeping L.A. this past weekend (she came on in relief in game 2 to hold on to the victory), she has been assigned the task of attending the August 15th Giants game and to represent CitiScape ON THE FIELD in accepting the award during this pre-game ceremony, and she will accept on our behalf Matt Cain and Bengie Molina autographed baseballs! She will also line up on the field for a group photo with Mr. Willie McCovey.
Rooting for the local team pays off! GO EMMALOU! Labels: around the office, CitiScape, just because, local events, neighborhood news, san francisco, SF GIANTS
