The View From CitiScape: San Francisco
One Warm Coat: A National Effort Meeting Local Needs
CitiScape has organized a One Warm Coat drive this holiday season on behalf of Hunter’s Point Youth and the San Francisco Housing Authority Family Self-Sufficiency Program. One Warm Coat started out in 1992 as a Thanksgiving Weekend coat drive in San Francisco. Since then, more than 1 Million coats have been donated in thousands of local communities across North America. Each coat drive has the same intent -- to collect coats that will be GIVEN to those in need.
Many people play a part in One Warm Coat - those who clean their closet to donate coats; those who organize a coat drive in their community; and the volunteers and staff at social service agencies who distribute the coats. - One Warm Coat is a simple, easy way to help those in need within local communities.
- One Warm Coat provides tools and resources to help volunteers in the collection of clean, reusable coats for donation to individuals.
- One Warm Coat strives to develop and nurture volunteerism in all of us.

Time to Fall Back!
Time to Fall Back!
Remember to turn your clocks back 1 hour on Sunday, November 7th @ 2am!
This is also a good time to check your smoke detectors and replace the batteries. A working smoke detector more than doubles a person's chances of surviving a home fire. More than 90 percent of homes in the United States have smoke detectors, but one-third are estimated to have dead or missing batteries. Play it safe and take a few minutes to check, repair, and replace the smoke detectors in your home and workplace. Remember – smoke detectors save lives!
*If you notice that the timers for the exterior lights, sprinkler systems, etc. at your CitiScape-managed property need to be adjusted, please give us a call or send us Service Request!

The Torture is Over. The SF Giants Celebrate Their Sweet World Series Victory!
|
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win the World Series! The San Francisco Giants are World Champs - what a season! Hats off to Shortstop Edgar Renteria, Series MVP!
The last time the Giants won the World Series was in 1954. Here's a cool little fact, today's date, 11-01-10, translates into 54 in binary code.
It's a good day to be a San Franciscan, thank you SF Giants!Labels: Buster Posey, celebration, community, Edgar Renteria, kind of a big deal, local events, san francisco, SF GIANTS
